Fees

Introduction

The Malaysian Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (MJSSH) operates on an open-access model, sustained financially by Article Processing Charges (APC). This approach allows the journal to make all its published articles available for free on its website, eliminating the need for readers to pay subscription fees.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

Authors are required to pay a one-time Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover the costs associated with peer review administration and management, professional production of articles in PDF and other formats, dissemination of published papers across various venues, website maintenance, annual Crossref membership, and DOI registration, among other publishing functions. There are no fees for rejected articles, nor are there any submission charges.

For articles accepted for publication in 2024 and onwards:

Authors affiliated with Malaysian institutions are required to pay RM880

Authors affiliated with institutions outside Malaysia are required to pay USD350.

The Article Processing Charge (APC) applies to the current calendar year and may be altered by the publisher without prior notice. It is advisable to assess your ability to secure funding for the APC before submitting your article, rather than waiting until after acceptance. The journal does not offer waivers or discounts on publication fees for authors.

Note: Article Processing Charges are required after a manuscript has been accepted for publication. The journal will not issue refunds of any kind after the acceptance of the manuscript.
